File FCC Form 605 electronically via the Universal Licensing System at

fcc.gov

Pay the applicable fee to the FCC.

MMSI number

Obtain an MMSI number which is required if your vessel uses DSC-capable VHF or AIS equipment, this cannot be a fleet license.

Handheld Radio

Keep aboard

Print and keep the license aboard the vessel at all times. You can download the license from the ULS after it's granted.

Your vessel will need a certification logged in the ship's log. Call us to schedule the inspection.

Beacon

E.P.I.R.B.

Your vessel's Emergency Position-Indicating Radio Beacon must be currently registered with the N.O.A.A. It must also have a battery whose life is greater than five years from the date of certification, in addition to an unexpired hydrostatic release.
